    This project was started in 2006 through the REA BD Branch, with information that was available at the time. In around 2014/15 it was placed on their initial website and updated when and where possible.

    In 2019 the RE Bomb Disposal EOD History Group was set up dedicated to just the this section of the Royal Engineers History. More research was undertaken and the categories expanded. Approximately 150 other Honours and Awards were located.

    Much more information has been added including the citations transcribed from files held at the National Archives. When added together it tells a story from the pioneers of the work in 1940 to the present day.

    Since this document became live in January 2026, three more additions have come to light. These will be added and a new version published here in January 2027.

    We are always happy to take on board any details others may have or just hear your thoughts on the work.
